What is Amigos De La Romana?

Amigos de La Romana is a charity organisation set up in conjunction with the La Romana Town Hall, which is based at Calle Mayor 47, 03669, La Romana.

It was opened on 24 February 2012 by Mayor Manuel Hernández Riquelme and the British Consul Paul Rodwell. Photos and videos of the Opening Ceremony can be viewed here.
The aim of the charity is to help local residents both Spanish and foreign who have disabilities, health problems or in need of help by supplying them with mobility equipment and services to give those in need a better way of life.
Amigos de La Romana is also an information centre where residents of all nationalities can come and obtain information, literature and documentation regarding any problems they may have in their day-to-day life. By opening this centre we will be able to relieve the pressure off of the Town Hall and medical centre and thus reduce the waiting times that residents have now.

The motto of this charity is "Working together to make a better future "

In the times of crisis which the world is encountering at this moment, we all, as residents, need to look after one another and all work together and, by doing, so our community will grow strong and survive. In time, and God willing, we will all benefit from a better future.

About The Shop

The shop has a wide range of quality inexpensive items to cater for both Spanish and English/European residents. These include: clothing, bags, shoes, toys, books (Spanish and English), household items such as textiles and much, much more.
